At Friendship we provide the facility and curriculum to make your child a well-rounded learner.  We have incorporated the following extra-curricular resources at no additional cost to give your child these opportunities:

  • First Look Christian Curriculum:  Basic facets of Christianity are introduced through Bible stories, fun activities and songs.

    • Simple themes like “God made them”, “God loves them” and “Jesus wants to be your friend forever” explores the wonder and love of God in the youngest of our students.
    • Developed by combining theology and early childhood development, First Look provides curricular strategies especially for preschool age children.
    • Bible stories and child directed worship songs deepens their understanding of God’s love for them and others.
    • Memory verses and games reinforce Biblical values in a fun and engaging platform.
  • Spanish:  Spanish is introduced through the use of stories, art projects, music and dramatic play to teach and reinforce Spanish words.

    • When children learn multiple languages at a young age, they develop a life-long love of communicating with others.
    • By incorporating foreign languages into your curriculum, children develop a greater appreciation for diversity.
    • When young children learn about the structure of other languages, their ability in English is enhanced.
    • Because the brain automatically compartmentalizes each language correctly, young children have the ability to learn many languages without getting them confused.
    • When children learn a second language at an early age, they will achieve a more native grasp of both grammar and pronunciation in the second language.
  • Second Step Social/Emotional Learning Program is implemented beginning in our Preschool classroom to help students develop their empathy, emotional regulation and friendship skills  as they build their verbal skills.   Second Step teaches students how to:

    • Identify, name and express their feelings.
    • Manage big feelings through calm down strategies.
    • Learn how to share, take turns and cooperatively play with others.
    • Problem solve solutions when they have conflict with others in a positive way.
    • Develop an understanding of how their actions affect others and focus on developing empathy for others.
  • American Sign Language is taught beginning in the infant room as a resource for older infants and toddlers to communicate as they build their verbal skills.  Toddlers love to use ASL as an additional way to express themselves as they build their verbal skills.   Below are just a few of the benefits of sign language:

What Parents are Saying

Testimonials

5/5
“What I value most from FLC is the love and compassion they show my children. I know they are LOVED deeply by the teachers and I appreciate the fact that I can easily drop them off because I know they are being cared for how I would care for them at home. FLC provides the environment for my children to grow and learn safely. My oldest is around other children which has helped him tremendously with his verbal skills and I just found out that he is easily potty training because he watches the other kids do it.”

With so much to do and explore, our infants and toddlers are always on the go! At this age, each child is learning and exploring the world around them. In addition to working on American Sign Language and Pre-Literacy skills we focus on helping your child grow into being a confident learner through:

  • Artistic expressions

Our Infants and Toddler parents receive an electronic daily sheet through our parent engagement Procare app to keep you updated on meals, diapering and naps as well as help you reinforce the lessons learned early in the day when you get home. Experiential learning is fundamental to your child’s growth. Our classrooms are designed to foster their imagination and creativity during this key stage in their life.

Our afterschool program is the perfect place for your child to finish off a day of academics. We provide a healthy afternoon snack and playground/gym time to help them burn off some extra energy.  We help students work on their homework or read.  Teachers take the time to help each student with any questions they may have.

Most importantly we use Kids Bible Studies for Life curriculum every day to help kids get to know Christ better, live in community together, and impact the world around them.  Students learn through bible stories, memory verses, group discussions and fun games to dive deeper into their faith.
